My name is Josh Percival, designer and builder of the Craftsman Tiny House, and Red Door Tiny Homes. As a skilled, hands on young man, and a person who loves and appreciates the simple things in life, I decided that building myself a tiny home was the perfect answer. While many of my family and friends doubted my sanity, as time went on they soon realized that maybe it wasn't such a crazy idea, to live tiny. over the last 50 or so years the average size of homes in both Canada and the USA has grown tremendously; from an average of 500 sq.ft. to over 3000 sq.ft. When you stop and consider what your needs really are and what it takes to live comfortably, it seems absurd that we have such large homes at all. Homes that most of us leave empty all day, and all week in order to go to work at the job that we hate, all so that we can pay our huge mortgage on our huge homes.. ironic isn't it?

 

Red Door Tiny Homes is here to help people reach their dreams of financial freedom and real happiness. More so than this, however, is the environmental factor. We take modern day conveniences so for granted, and consume at a level never before seen. There has to be a balance between convenience and minimalism if we ever hope that our grandchildren can live in a world as beautiful as the one we have now. So for the sake of individual's freedom and happiness, and lessening our environmental impact, I have created Red Door Tiny Homes!
